[Integration] eufy Security: cameras, doorbells, and locks in Gladys

Hello everyone,

I’m introducing a new external integration for Gladys: eufy Security. It is available now in the integrations store.

What it does

  • :camera: Cameras and doorbells: the thumbnail sent by eufy on each detection or doorbell press is displayed in the camera widget of the dashboard.
  • :bell: Doorbell: each press is reported in Gladys.
  • :person_walking: Motion: motion, person, unknown, vehicle, and animal detection, on cameras as well as PIR sensors.
  • :locked: Locks: locking from Gladys and battery level. Unlocking is activated by an option, disabled by default.
  • :shield: HomeBase: reading and changing the arming mode (away, home, schedule…). Disarming is also activated by an option.
  • :thermometer: Sensors: door or window opening, water leak, smoke, CO, siren, battery.
  • :high_voltage: Scenes: triggers “eufy doorbell pressed”, “motion detected by eufy” (filterable by type), “package delivered” and “eufy alarm triggered”.
    Example of a scene: when someone rings, send the camera image to Telegram. The integration waits for the thumbnail to be available before responding.

Prerequisites

  • Gladys 5.1 or higher.
  • A dedicated eufy account for Gladys. eufy only allows one session per account: if you use your main account, the app will log you out. Therefore, you need to:
    1. create a second eufy account;
    2. share your devices from the app of your main account (Settings > Family and guests), with administrator rights to control the locks and arming mode;
    3. log in once with this account in the app to accept the invitation, then log out.

Installation

  1. Install eufy Security from the Gladys integrations store.
  2. In the Configuration tab, enter the email, password, and country of the dedicated account, then save.
  3. If eufy asks for a verification code (received by email) or a captcha, the connection status tells you what to do. Enter the answer in the provided field, then save. The session is then preserved, even after a restart.
  4. Create your devices from the Discovery tab.

The complete documentation, with a troubleshooting section, is here: https://github.com/cicoub13/gladys-eufy/blob/main/docs/fr.md

Known limitations

  • No live video: Gladys only displays still images, updated with each event (no library does better).
  • The integration goes through the eufy cloud, there is no local control.
  • The reporting of leaks, smoke, and CO depends on what eufy sends for each model. It is not yet confirmed on all devices.

Your feedback is welcome

This is a first version, tested on: [to be completed with your devices]. If a device is not recognized, use the List raw devices button. It writes the model and capabilities of each device in the integration logs. Share these logs here or in a GitHub issue, remembering to anonymize the serial numbers.

Happy home automation! :house:
