Hi everyone!
In North America, there is a ceiling fan in almost every room, with its little radio remote control that always ends up between two cushions. The Bond Bridge learns these remote controls (fans, blinds, lights, fireplaces) and makes them controllable. For those who have one, it arrives in Gladys, locally, without cloud or account.
What it does
- Ceiling fans: on/off, speed, rotation direction (summer / winter), breeze mode, light and brightness, high and low lights.
- Blinds, shutters, awnings: open, close, stop, position.
- Lights: on/off, brightness, color temperature.
- Generic devices: on/off.
- Fireplaces: hidden by default, or displayed read-only. Never controlled from Gladys.
- The state arrives in real-time, pushed by the bridge.
- A « Ceiling Fan » widget: Slower, Faster, Light, On/Off, like the wall remote control.
- Two triggers « Bridge Unreachable » and « Bridge Back », and an action « Fix Bond State » when someone uses the original remote control.
- Up to three bridges, in French, English, German, and Spanish.

Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum.
It arrives in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with GitHub - guim31/gladys-bond: Bond Bridge ceiling fans, shades and fireplaces (local API) for Gladys Assistant · GitHub
- First install the bridge and its devices in the Bond app, and give it a fixed IP address in your box.
- In the configuration, press Find Bridges (or enter the address manually).
- Unplug then plug the bridge back in, and within 10 minutes press Retrieve Local Token. Alternative: copy the token from the Bond app (Settings → Advanced → Local token).
- Test the connection, then Discovery tab: add your devices.
Honest small reservations
- Bond replays radio signals, without feedback from the devices: the displayed state is what Bond thinks. If someone uses the original remote control, it becomes false, hence the action « Fix Bond State ».
- Fireplaces remain read-only: a flame accidentally lit from a scene or a voice assistant, not for me.
- Garage doors, air conditioners, and bidets are not supported, nor the inclination of the blades, timers, and Bond groups.
- Developed without a bridge. It follows the official local Bond API and has been tested against a fake bridge, but has never spoken to a real one: if you have one, I am very interested in feedback.
