External integration - Nanoleaf (with touch gestures as scenes)

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

Last light pack for tonight: Nanoleaf (Light Panels, Canvas, Shapes, Elements, Lines), locally. And what I like best is that your touch panels become buttons for Gladys: a double tap or a swipe can launch a scene :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

What it does

  • Automatic discovery on the network (including old „Aurora“ Light Panels), or by IP address.
  • A guided pairing: hold the controller button for 5 to 7 seconds, then click „Pair“ within 30 seconds.
  • Each controller becomes a Gladys light: on/off, brightness, color (not on white Elements), white temperature, and the list of your effects to choose from.
  • Changes made from the Nanoleaf app arrive immediately in Gladys.
  • A „gesture on the Nanoleaf“ trigger: single tap, double tap, swipes up/down/left/right, filterable by panel.
  • Two scene actions: launch an effect (by name) and display a color for X seconds before returning to the previous state.
  • A „Nanoleaf“ widget: up to 4 favorite effects as buttons, the current effect, and the last gesture.
  • In French, English, German, and Spanish.

The cool part

Double tap on the panels → turn off the whole living room
Swipe up → „cinema“ scene
Doorbell → the panels turn orange for 10 seconds

Installation

:warning: Gladys 5.1 minimum.

It will be in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with GitHub - guim31/gladys-nanoleaf: Nanoleaf light panels for Gladys Assistant: colors, effects and touch gestures as scene triggers, local · GitHub

  1. Let discovery find your controller, or enter its IP address.
  2. Hold the controller power button for 5 to 7 seconds (the LEDs blink), then click Pair within 30 seconds.
  3. Discovery tab: add it.

Honest small reservations

  • Developed without the hardware: everything was tested from the official Nanoleaf API documentation, not on real panels. Your feedback is welcome, especially on gestures.
  • Nanoleaf Essentials (Matter/Thread bulbs and strips) do not use this API: they go through Matter in Gladys.

Like the previous ones, developed with Claude Code. Independent project, not affiliated with Nanoleaf.
