Hello everyone,
I present to you SMA Solar, a new integration that brings your SMA photovoltaic installation into Gladys.
- 100 % local: reading via Modbus TCP on your network. No cloud, no Sunny Portal account, no API key. It continues to work when the internet is down.
- Read-only: nothing is ever written to your inverters.
- Compatible with Sunny Boy, Sunny Tripower and Sunny Highpower, Smart Energy hybrids, Sunny Boy Storage and Sunny Island, and devices behind a Data Manager.
- Measurements: instant, daily, and total production, battery (level, charge, and discharge), grid withdrawal and injection (with an Energy Meter or Home Manager), voltage, current, and temperature. All feed the Energy view.
- Scenes: « Start / End of solar production » triggers (with the day’s energy, perfect for a daily Telegram report) and « State change » (to be notified of a fault). Actions « Read an SMA device » and « Read the solar installation », for example to start the water heater above 2 kW of production.
- Dashboard: « Solar installation » and « SMA device » widgets.
- Available in French, English, German, and Spanish. Requires Gladys 5.1 or newer.
Installation: enable Modbus TCP on your SMA devices (installer access) and give them a fixed IP. Install SMA Solar from the catalog, enter the IP addresses, click on « Test connection », then add the devices from the Discovery tab.
