I need you! 🙏

Hello everyone!

This post is a bit special, to the point that I even preferred to ask @pierre-gilles for permission before posting it

For those who know me a little or who read my introduction in the moderators’ post, you know that I work for a Lyon-based startup called Wuha. Our core business is a multi-application search engine.
Our tool allows you to search directly in Google, in a completely secure way, for files/conversations that are in Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, and other upcoming connectors, simultaneously

We are launching the first official version of the app in early January, but for now, we are looking for beta testers in a completely open mode (no comment restrictions) to test the solution. We really want to get as much feedback as possible, both good and bad!

The solution is intended for both professionals and individuals, and the forum has a strong tech-savvy community, which is all the more constructive, so I count on you to try it out. It would be a real plus for us  :metal:

To understand what the tool does, go here: https://wuha.io

And if you are already convinced by my explanation, sign up here: https://app.wuha.io

The app is provided as a browser extension and is currently only available for Chrome and Firefox. Vivaldi also works, so for those who know it

Thanks in advance to all of you for your participation!
I invite you to share your feedback directly in this topic

Hi!!! @Retlaw, @lagoa

After several days of use, what do you think?? Several updates have already taken place on the extension  (On Firefox we are at 2.20.0 / On Chrome at 2.15.0) The version gap doesn’t mean one is better than the other, they have the same features, but some have had more bug fixes than others

For info, if the extension hasn’t entirely won you over, know that there is now a dedicated search page  at https://app.wuha.io/search (make sure you are logged in to app.wuha.io before accessing the page)

A site update should actually arrive soon to allow you to switch from the page to the extension and vice versa  the update will also bring the whole notion of profile, Name, First Name, possibility to change the language, logout.

The site app.wuha.io becomes a real interface  The foundation is built, a whole bunch of features are going to be added to it!

Next big update: a new connector: the FS Crawler! In other words, the ability to index the files on your PC to find them via Wuha  I don’t have an exact date for that yet, but it’s coming soon

Kisses and thanks for participating in all this!!

Hello from the dead! :joy:

Since I also have it, I’ll give you some feedback ^^

After a few weeks of use, it turns out to be quite practical, even though I use it a lot!

Points to improve, in my opinion:

  • It would be helpful to sort the results by date, otherwise it’s a mess to navigate.
  • The More results feature that causes a page flash on Chrome is not great.

What will be practical:

  • Instead of having More results, it would be better to be able to scroll the extension’s view.
  • Being able to filter the results, for example: between such date and such date.

I don’t see much else otherwise ^^

Yo !!!

Survivor, you saw it! :stuck_out_tongue:

You’re absolutely right

That’s not the principle of a search engine ^^ Currently, we show the most relevant result first

Yep! It’s in the Dev’s pipeline! It’s planned to not reload the entire page, but to only load the next results

Why not  I’ll talk about it!

Filters are coming, but there’s a big debate about it internally!!
Given that we search in very different data sources, the notion of filtering is not so simple. The filtering criteria can be completely different depending on the app in which you are searching.

For example, in Gmail, you might want to search by contact, while in Drive, you want to search by modification date

I was mainly talking about emails ^^
But you’re right, that’s not the principle of a search engine!

Not wrong! But you could surely integrate filters by app!

Like Gmail filters, Gdrive filters

In short, each app would have its specific filters

All comments are welcome, whether the tests are short or long

Hi,

Here’s my feedback after a few weeks of use:

First of all, it’s very useful and has allowed me to find files attached to my emails several times without having to overthink it!

On the other hand, here are a few improvements that, in my opinion, would be useful (but I don’t know if they are feasible or not)

First, being able to choose to search only in the main inbox would be a big plus (being able to exclude spam/promo/social networks).
Indeed, every time I search for promos, my spam appears
Me who is happy not to see them in my mailbox, I find them in Google

Next, being able to « disable Â» temporarily the display of personal results when searching for something on Google would also be a plus (a bit like you can enable/disable adblock plus for example)
Indeed, I don’t use Wuha every day and the other day, I had a good laugh with a colleague when we were searching for something on Google and a personal conversation between my sister and me appeared
And as only part of the message appears, the truncated message could have led to some risqué assumptions
The problem is bypassed by using the dedicated search page (as it allows not to install the extension at work  ), but even in daily use at home, a switch to enable/disable personal search would be a plus.

That’s it for my few remarks (few, I admit, but I can’t think of anything else to criticize or modify for the moment
 )

Hello!

I’m here to make a new announcement!
Those who previously signed up have certainly received the email about the big update a few days ago, but that’s not all

Some really interesting features have been implemented, here is the list:

Interface

  • We have standardized the results to obtain a clearer display with the most useful information.
  • In line with your usage feedback, a tag system has been implemented to highlight the file format.
  • The metadata of each result has been streamlined to focus on the essentials: the modification date and the file owner (or sender/receiver in the case of emails).
  • Clearer highlighting of similar results.
  • A click on the Wuha logo in the extension will redirect you to our dedicated search page.

User Account

  • The activation of the « My Computer Â» connector has been greatly simplified.
  • The installation of the extension for Internet Explorer is now accessible to everyone.
  • The password change is possible directly from the « My Settings Â» menu.
  • A new « Privacy Â» menu in line with the GDPR has appeared on the profile page, giving you access to the total or partial deletion of your account and the download of all the data concerning you stored by Wuha.

Search Engine | Intelligence

  • You can complete your searches with « smart Â» date criteria such as: « Invoice yesterday Â», « presentation from last month Â» or « business plan from last year Â».
  • Smart search by file extension is also available, the words word, gdoc, docx, excel, xls, gsheet, presentation, pptx, gslides and other variations will prioritize files with the recognized extension.

Today, it’s Outlook and SharePoint that are added to the list of available applications :raised_hands:

Here are some screenshots of the result for those who want to see what it looks like

I invite you to test it out
