Many of you have been waiting for it — the Alexa integration is now available in alpha
Concretely, it is now possible to control bulbs / plugs connected to Gladys (regardless of the technology, even DIY via MQTT), and to see them in Alexa, then control them from your smartphone or by voice at home
Hello, it’s great news that you’re integrating Alexa since I use it and that the cameras are compatible with Alexa — that will be perfect
No problem doing the beta test; I already did it for Microsoft when they released their operating systems — I was a beta tester.
@VonOx, I’m currently on vacation; I’ll check on site as soon as I get back on Monday. But indeed, on the app I also have the message « the server is not responding » …
Back from vacation, I can confirm what you noticed — you’re both on the beta version of the Alexa integration, but apparently betas have a 90-day lifespan and are then automatically closed by Amazon! (bad luck it happened right in the middle of the holidays aha)
You need to migrate to the Alexa « prod » (production) app; however it’s a bit of a pain if you have to delete the « old » devices in the Alexa app — from what I remember on Google, when an app is unlinked the devices were deleted automatically..
How did you manage to delete everything ?
I started but one by one — with the loading times it took me 2 minutes for 4 devices… for 80 I wouldn’t have the patience… and I’m not keen on touching the DB directly on the production database… I think it’ll stay like that for now. Oh well ^^
