Wrong time on Nous sensor via Zigbee

Hello,

I just paired a Nous E6 sensor that displays the temperature, humidity, and time (time is important because the sensor is in the bathroom and serves as a reference for my daughters…)

I successfully retrieve the data (temperature and humidity) in Gladys.

But the time displayed on the sensor is off by 2 hours (it says 4 PM when it’s actually 6 PM, for example)

How can I fix this issue?

I assume the sensor gets the time from Gladys.

If someone could help me, that would be really nice.

Pat

Hello,

Is there not an option directly in the Zigbee2Mqtt interface that allows you to set the time?

Good evening,

That’s a bit what I imagine, but I don’t see where?

In the zigbee2mqtt integration in the configuration tab, there is a link that leads to the zigbee2mqtt interface. If you click on it, do you have access?

Yes, I do have access but I don’t know where to set the time or rather I am in GMT+2

If you go to the device and look through all these tabs, don’t you have an option?

I don’t see this information.

When I click on zigbee2mqtt configuration, I see this:

What should I do now?

Thanks for your help

Oh ok I use an external zigbee2mqtt that’s why we don’t have the same options.

Do you have « Open in Zigbee2mqtt » in the device? :

You should have a direct link in the Devices tab of the zigbee2mqtt integration, under your Nous E6.
There you will switch to the zigbee2mqtt interface and you will be able to see the features that exist in “Exposition” (if I am not mistaken).

Unfortunately, I don’t have any link that directs to the mqtt interface in the device.

Don’t you have something like this?

EDIT: what version of Gladys do you have?

Hello,

Gladys is on version 5.0.4.

I don’t have the open Zigbee button in the device, and the IEEE address doesn’t appear either

So mystery!

Gladys locally, not via Gladys Plus…

Indeed, we must be on-site with @prohand and @Pat via Gladys Plus, you confirm @Pat?

Good evening,

Yes, I’m on Gladys Plus.

What should I do then?

You need to connect to Gladys locally using http://gladys-ip or http://gladys-ip:port-number
With a bit of luck, you might even just need to click on http://gladysassistant.local

Well, I’m with Gladys more directly but with an external zigbee2mqtt

Thanks for your reply, I’ll do some tests this weekend and keep you posted.

Hello,

I managed to access zigbee2mqtt live.

I can’t find any way to specify my location or settings like GMT+1 Paris.

Can someone help me?

It might be necessary to change the time directly on the Gladys mini PC. But I don’t know how to do that.

Have a good weekend.

The clock is not an expose: it therefore does not appear anywhere in the zigbee2mqt UI.

The MCU requests the time (commandMcuSyncTime) and z2m responds, in src/lib/tuya.ts:

const utcTime = Math.round((Date.now() - offset) / 1000);
const localTime = utcTime - new Date().getTimezoneOffset() * 60;

getTimezoneOffset() = timezone of the Node process in the zigbee2mqtt container. Nothing else.

server/services/zigbee2mqtt/docker/gladys-z2m-zigbee2mqtt-container.json has no Env key, so no TZ. And the only bind is the data folder (installZ2mContainer.js:24): neither /etc/localtime nor /etc/timezone from the host are mounted. The koenkk/zigbee2mqtt (Alpine) image therefore starts in UTC.

Result: getTimezoneOffset() returns 0 → localTime === utcTime → the screen displays the time in UTC. In September (CEST = UTC+2) this gives exactly 16:00 instead of 18:00. In winter there will be a 1-hour difference — a good confirmation test.

I’m working on a fix :technologist:
