Hello, I followed the tutorial to add my Q5 cameras but I get an error message
An error occurred while retrieving the RTSP stream. Are you sure the provided URL is correct and accessible from the Gladys instance?
rtsp://UserName:Password@Camera_IP/live/ch00_0
What did I do wrong in all this?
Thanks in advance ![]()
Hello, isn’t it /live/ch0 at the end rather?
It doesn’t work either…
Is it because my cameras are connected to smart plugs? (Plugs activated)
Is this a Wansview camera? Try connecting to your camera’s IP via HTTP in your browser, maybe RTSP is disabled.
And have you tried using the RTSP stream generator available here?
It doesn’t work in my browser
RTSP is enabled
I tested with the generator and still nothing
@Guillaume36 Did you follow the tutorial correctly? Was VLC working fine on your end?
Hello Pierre-Gilles yes I followed the tutorial well and nothing on VLC either. I also tried without going through my connected sockets but it doesn’t change anything, it’s strange…
It’s possible that this is an issue with the username or password. At wansview, I’ve already had a problem with a special character in my password.
You can try reverting to a classic password (which you’ll need to change later) of alphanumeric type without special characters and try again via VLC or directly via Gladys.
Silly question but you never know…
The identifier and password are indeed in the camera settings and are unique to each camera, it’s not my email and my password for my account?
These are normally the credentials you entered when installing your camera on your network (most commonly via the Wansview application).
Actually, I copied and pasted the address from my phone that I sent by email and now it works ![]()
I must have made a mistake when copying it manually earlier
And on VLC, it’s all good too, phew
Thanks for your feedback ![]()
For those who find themselves in the same situation as me, the steps to follow are simple:
From the WansView app, click on the camera in question, then in the top right corner of the screen, click on the small gear icon, then on « Local Application » and on « RTSP » copy/paste the first link and that’s it. If the first link doesn’t work, do the same with the second link. ![]()
