When I simply rename a device, I get this error message:
Do I need to delete all my devices, re-pair them, etc… to be able to rename them with _ ?

Did you actually modify the device names directly in Zigbee2mqtt?
If so, you need to change them again but with a name without spaces, and yes you will have to re-establish the link with Gladys (no need to re-pair the devices). We have no choice: it’s the Zigbee2mqtt name that serves as the identifier; if it is changed, Gladys cannot make the connection
I successfully changed the names in Zigbee2mqtt.
I then went to the Zigbee2mqtt integration / Zigbee Discovery
I found the devices with the new names
But when I assign them to their room and save, I get this error message
Ah, indeed you need to delete the old devices if you already had devices in Gladys; that’s probably the error you’re seeing!
Dumb thing because I got caught out (but maybe it’s not the same), did you try doing the backup with a different browser (in Firefox the autocomplete sometimes causes problems; for example I got caught with the password in the MQTT module)
