Point stability, dependency updates & code quality

Hello !!

Would it be possible to organize a « training » call on this topic, in the short or long term, ensuring that all developers can participate, where you would show us the overall expectations and the actions to be taken? This would prevent us from having to train and search individually and at least have the basics and a common vision?

Take an integration for example and start it during this call.

And save the session so we can watch it later

It’s quite a good idea, but be aware that I’m not a good trainer. However, I’d be happy to present what I’ve done verbally.
I’m on vacation next week, so that would be perfect for me (or this weekend).

Top!!

No issues on the « trainer » side, I think that even an example session can help, with a few questions as needed, it will be a good overview.

Now, on the organization side, can you handle it or should we check with @pierre-gilles? If interested as well ^^ So that everyone is aware.

Would you have a list of prerequisites to have? (short literature to read beforehand, specific tools to have, project to download beforehand to follow live)

On the date side, I will free up the necessary time on my side, just not possible tomorrow.

Thanks @AlexTrovato

For the date, we need to make a call, I think it’s good if @pierre-gilles participates, and I also think he knows how to make the calls
For the prerequisites, it would be useful to retrieve the code from my PR

# Retrieve the branches from my Git repo
git remote add atrovato https://github.com/atrovato/Gladys.git
git fetch atrovato

# Checkout the correct branch
git checkout atrovato/cypress-tests

# And install the dependencies (from the root of the repo)
npm install

And take a look at the Cypress installation according to your OS:

:warning: If WSL2

For the bravest, I am preparing slides (to look professional :p): Cypress slides (still may evolve).
This allows you to anticipate questions.

Great idea for a developer call

After that, I’m not available this weekend.

Available in the evening for me this week (in UTC+8, which is around 15:00 for you), but I’m not sure if you’re available during the day…

On my side, I’m available every afternoon this week, as I’m on vacation
I think it’s better if you’re present, let’s see the availability of the others.

OK! I can suggest Wednesday or Thursday at 3 PM each time  Let me know if you’re available

Argh!! Darn… for my part, I’m going to pick up the baby at 3:15 PM…

And from 2:00 p.m.?

Ouch, what a shame!

This week, 14:00 is going to be really tight for me. I’m working for a client, and sometimes it runs a bit late. I also need time to eat, so I don’t think it’s going to work. 15:00 was fine, but it doesn’t suit @Terdious

Given our very different availabilities this week, maybe it would be better to just exchange asynchronously (forum) for now? We could do a call next week if necessary ^^ Or go ahead with a call without me otherwise

Okay, we’ll make 2 calls if needed, it will be necessary to properly record the session(s).

Good, we need a date. This afternoon might be too short for you? Otherwise, tomorrow afternoon or morning?
I have my PowerPoint, I am « ready ».
If needed, today and tomorrow, I can do several sessions.

At the end of the day, I’m available at 2 PM today  Would that work for you?

In any case, we can indeed record the session and upload it to YouTube afterwards

14:00 ok, with 5 minutes delay
I’m not drinking too much this afternoon then :stuck_out_tongue:

It works! See you!

How do we work for the meet?
@Terdious @contributors are you available?

You put a Google Meet link here?

Welcome !

No :slightly_frowning_face: but I’m up for the recording
