Hello everyone, I bought a Bluetooth beeper keychain to use as a presence detector. It is recognized when scanning for Bluetooth devices; I
Hi @Bruno94 ! You can create a scene that sends you a message every time the key fob is seen, which you can use to see what’s going wrong
Out of curiosity, what timing did you set in your different scenes? (device seen less than… scene execution frequency, etc..)
Hello @pierre-gilles, as I said in my initial message I applied the settings from this tutorial: Manage presence with Bluetooth detection | Gladys Assistant
In device search mode it shows a huge number of devices, most of which don’t have names and only display their MAC addresses. How can I find our device? Several detected devices don’t belong to me and probably belong to neighbors
Ok, that’s strange then if you set exactly the same values. Maybe your device isn’t very reliable?
Search by name; if devices don’t broadcast names it’s indeed complicated. We can’t work any magic on the Gladys side ^^
No, it’s just a search anyway so we show you everything that’s available, a bit like when you open the « Bluetooth » tab on your phone and search for a new device.
In principle, the MAC address of each device is supposed to be written on it, or on the box or in the user manual…
@GBoulvin, Hello
As you say « in principle » but unfortunately that’s not the case so it’s not always obvious. This time I just bought this one and it is perfectly recognized as a Nut in Gladys https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B009AZ1JW4?psc=1\u0026ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. I created the Scenes and I’m testing them right now
A funny thing too, I realized that Gladys had detected my wife’s connected watch (smart Mi Band 4) — I thought I would connect it incognito as a presence detector (because my wife is not into home automation at all
) — bad luck it only works when she turns off her smartphone because the phone has priority over the watch and she can’t handle 2 simultaneous Bluetooth connections ![]()
