Browser AutoFill/AutoComplete problem

Sometimes browsers intercept entered data (the MQTT container password, among other things) and, without warning, replace it on the fly with values they have in memory when you try to save — which makes you think something isn’t working when it is actually the stored data that is causing the authentication to fail.

Here’s how to disable autofill information in some browsers to prevent these details from being saved or used unintentionally in your browser.

Disable autofill in Chrome
Click the Chrome menu icon. (Three dots at the top right of the screen.)
Click Settings.
In the « Autofill » section, expand the area you want to disable for autofill.
Toggle the setting to OFF if it is enabled. The system will automatically save your settings.

Disable autofill in Firefox
Click the Firefox menu icon. (Three lines at the top right of the screen.)
Click « Settings ».
Choose « Privacy & Security ».
In the « Forms and Autofill » section, uncheck the options you want to disable for autofill. The system will automatically save your settings.

Disable autofill in Edge (Chromium)
Click the « Settings and more » icon. (Three dots at the top right of the screen.)
Click « Settings ».
The menu should default to « Profiles ». If not, select that option from the menu on the left side of the screen.
In the « Your profile » section, click each of the following items and make sure the option is turned off:
Passwords
The system should automatically save your settings.

Disable autofill in Safari
Click the Safari menu. (The word Safari at the top of the screen.)
Click « Preferences ».
Click the « AutoFill » tab.
Uncheck « Usernames and passwords ».
The system should automatically save your settings.
