We will soon start the construction of a swimming pool, and I wonder what is interesting to automate and how?
The equipment of the technical room will be as follows:
a 0.75HP pump
a sand filter
an LED lamp
a pH regulator with pH probe
a salt electrolyzer with built-in probe
the cover will probably be a bar cover in the first place, then a sliding telescopic pool cover in the long term
In terms of home automation technology, I use Zigbee with a Zigate (which I am disappointed with), I want solutions WITHOUT WiFi, and WITHOUT cloud, ideally plug and play (no electronic board to solder and program).
Of course, all within a reasonable budget
Here is a list of home automation ideas, which ones are essential and which are superfluous in your opinion, do not hesitate to share your ideas as well
pH measurement
pH regulation
measurement of the pressure of the sand filter
measurement of the water temperature
control on/off of the pump depending on the water temperature, and the air temperature in winter for frost protection
control on/off of the 12V LED light
level sensor of the pH- container?
should the electrolyzer be automated, is it useful?
measurement of the oxidation-reduction rate, is it useful?
How would you automate these parts? with which equipment? where to place them?
@Reno, @Terdious, @Gardaux: I am asking you knowing that you have pools
Where did you place the probe, and how did you do it?
Did you drill into an interior rigid PVC pipe in the technical room? If so, where? (before the pump or elsewhere) And what did you use to insert the probe into the pipe?
I’m taking the liberty of asking here, as I now have a swimming pool and I’m interested in this topic.
I wanted to know if there are any submerged lighting solutions (to illuminate the bottom of the pool) that are compatible with Zigbee? I found quite a few references that work with multicolored remote controls, etc., but nothing that can be integrated into home automation.
Hello @NilkOne
FYI, in the meantime GCE has released an X-Pool module that could do the job X-Pool Connect – Gestion domotique piscine autonome | GCE Electronics it can connect to the IPX800V5 so it can be controlled from Gladys and Node-RED via the tutorial above, it’s an excellent product but I think it’s missing some things that Gladys can provide
