Robot vacuums: a complete control line in the Devices app

Hello everyone,

Following the exchange with @pierre-gilles (Retours de l'intégration Dreame : widgets en mode sombre, carte aspirateur, petits bugs du cœur), here is the dedicated request.

The need

A robot vacuum exposes many features: status, operating mode, return to base, pause, and depending on the models, the cleaning mode, suction power, route, mop humidity, washing frequency, rooms… In the Devices box, each takes a line. At @Chris75’s (Dreame robot), it’s 8 lines for the settings alone, and up to 19 with room selection (Demande d'intégration externe pour robot aspirateur/laveur DREAME - #32 par Chris75). What he asks for: a complete card per robot, useful for all robots.

The proposal

Do for vacuum cleaners what Gladys already does for lights, a single line that opens a panel:

  • in the Devices box, the features of the same robot are grouped into a single line: icon tinted according to the status, name, live status (« Cleaning », « On the base »…) with the battery, and the start / pause and return to base buttons;
  • this line opens a panel with the other features chosen for this robot in the box (cleaning mode, lists, sliders, switches), each with its usual control;
  • like for lights, grouping is done at display, without new settings: the order and names chosen in the box are respected.

It’s generic: the « vacuum cleaner » category already serves Matter and the external integrations Roborock and Dreame.

Vote if you’re interested! I volunteer for the PR.

I vote for

see what I’ve done with the current widgets: it takes up a lot of space:

It includes the essential functions and settings of the robot
