Swipe down to update a Gladys dashboard on your smartphone

Good evening,

I quite often access Gladys from my iPhone, whether from home or remotely (via GladysPlus). And I’m pleased to have access to all my home automation this way.

There’s just one thing that annoys me: the dashboard information doesn’t update after a « standby », and a « swipe down » (quite standard on many sites) has no effect.

I will specify the use case:

  • to describe a concrete example: a temperature sensor managed by Gladys that updates every 2 minutes, displayed on my dashboard
  • I open the Gladys webapp and view the dashboard, I leave it displayed without the phone going to sleep: it does update correctly every 2 minutes.
  • I open the Gladys webapp and view the dashboard occasionally, I switch to another app or my iPhone goes to sleep, I relaunch the webapp quite some time later (for example 30 minutes): the dashboard displays the information from 30 minutes ago (even if Gladys became aware of a more recent temperature 10 seconds ago). And I have to wait 1 minute 50 seconds for it to be up to date.

Instinctively, I want to perform a « swipe down » so the display updates. But it has no effect.

My feature request is to implement this

Note: This is an issue I observe on iOS/Safari; I don’t know if it’s the same on Android…

I have almost the same issue on Android.
The displayed information is the cached one after the app is sent to the background.
But a swipe does update the info…

Thanks for confirming it works on Android :+1:.

And to clarify: no problem with the data not being ‹ fresh › after being sent to the background. The request is therefore ‹ just › to implement the refresh on a swipe down on iOS

But as usual, I can describe the functional need but I have no idea about the technical difficulty of implementing it…

Not very useful but I can confirm that swiping on my Android phone indeed updates my dashboard

After discussing with @pierre-gilles, I find that the update is being applied correctly without any particular action, so the swipe is no longer necessary. I think we can close this request…
