After 3 weeks of waiting, I just received a « Xiaomi home » kit, Chinese version. :smiley:

But bad surprise, no developer mode on the hub… « HomeKit » version :rage:

Do you know where to find the non HomeKit version?

Is there a Zigbee module compatible with Xiaomi devices planned?

Zigbee2mqtt on v4, no more development on v3 (unless someone wants to take it on)

Will a simple Zigbee dongle be enough?

Or will a « CC2531 USB sniffer » and a « CC debugger » be required?

The simplest way is to use a « CC2531 USB sniffer » dongle as indicated on the zigbee2mqtt.io website
Some people apparently use CC2530 dongles as well.

Since the basic sniffer does not contain the zigbee2mqtt firmware, you have 2 options:

  • Buy a sniffer pre-flashed with the firmware as seen here (the easiest option):

  • Buy a basic sniffer + CC debugger that will allow you to flash the firmware.
    This second option has an equivalent price to the first but can quickly become very economical if you have several dongles to flash (to increase the range in a large house, for example) because you will reuse the CC debugger.
