External integration - WiZ

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

You can find WiZ bulbs everywhere: in supermarkets, at Philips (the « Smart LED Wi-Fi »), on sale for a few cents… and until now they didn’t talk to Gladys. That’s fixed :light_bulb: Here’s WiZ, 4% of Home Assistant installations, and everything works locally, without an account or cloud.

What it does

  • :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Automatic discovery: your WiZ bulbs, strips, lamps, and plugs appear automatically in the Discovery tab (IP address as a fallback). A bulb that changes address keeps its device.
  • :light_bulb: On/off, brightness, color, white in kelvins (within the range of your model), and WiZ scenes in list (Ocean, Romance, Sunset, Party, Fireplace…) with their speed.
  • :electric_plug: The plugs: on/off, and the power consumed if your model measures it.
  • :puzzle_piece: A WiZ widget: three favorite scenes in one gesture and an On/Off button.
  • :clapper_board: A trigger « WiZ device turned on or off outside of Gladys » (from the WiZ app, the remote, or the wall switch), and an action « Run a WiZ scene ».

The cool thing

Someone turns on the living room with the wall switch → the other lamps in the room follow :couch_and_lamp:
6:45 a.m. on weekdays → « Wake up » scene in the bedroom :sun:
The freezer plug doesn’t respond anymore → alert :ice:

Installation

:warning: Gladys 5.1 minimum.

:light_bulb: It will arrive in the store at the next indexer run. In a hurry? Integrations → Install from GitHub, with the address GitHub - guim31/gladys-wiz: WiZ bulbs and plugs for Gladys Assistant, on the local network · GitHub

  1. In the WiZ app, enable « Allow local communication » (security settings).
  2. Install the integration, then add your devices from the Discovery tab.

Small honest reservations: a change made outside of Gladys is seen at the next read (15 seconds by default), a power cut at the wall switch is seen in about thirty seconds, and for ceiling fans, only the lamp is controlled.

:warning: Developed without the hardware: tests are based on the real responses of 16 WiZ devices (firmware 1.8 to 1.35) and on a fake bulb in a container, but nothing beats your own bulbs. Give me the model in your feedback!
