@StephaneB pointed out to me this week that the image quality of the dashboard cameras was a bit low, and I thought he was right! ![]()
Until now, the resolution of the “camera” widget was limited to 640 px.
But with the ability to display dashboards in one or two columns, we can now have a very wide camera widget, and 640 px is clearly insufficient.
After some testing, doubling the resolution seems like a good compromise to me: we’d move to 1280 px (for the longest side of the image).
Even with this resolution, the generated JPEG images remain lightweight (~50 KB on average), which is perfectly acceptable.
This change also improves the quality of images sent via the Gladys chat, notably in Telegram. However, it does not impact images sent to ChatGPT, because the resolution there is limited by OpenAI.
