Choose a column for your dashboard

Hi,

Since there’s only a single button to add boxes to the Dashboard, they all end up in the first column.

I looked for conversations in the community, without success…
I can see that it’s a feature that dates from earlier this year.

But even when testing on Edge or Chrome, I can’t move anything…

Am I missing something?

Thanks

François

Hi!
We discuss it here:

In short, it’s going to change

You can move them afterwards!

Indeed, on a smartphone the behavior is like that, while on a PC it’s easier to do.

Except that I can’t move them. See my video…

Where’s your video?

a copy-paste omission: Galdys - Tableau de Bord - YouTube

in my first post…

sorry

Do you have a touchscreen?

On my machine (Chromium on Ubuntu, touchscreen Dell XPS 13) moving the mouse behaves the same as for you. However, it works with touch.

Damn !!

I hadn’t tried using my fingers!

I do have a touchscreen that will get ME unstuck, but that’s not the case for everyone.

In any case, thank you very much

Actually, those who don’t have a touchscreen can use the mouse. I think it depends on a number of things in terms of how touch is implemented by the browser.

Glad it works for you :+1::+1:

On my Windows in Edge or in Chrome, it doesn’t work.
On my Android, I don’t have the arrows to move the boxes…

I doubt I’m the only one in this situation.

Indeed, that’s very surprising!
@pierre-gilles we need help :grin:

On mobile it’s a bit different: you need to click the « Re-order dashboards » button, and after that you’ll be able to move your widgets.

My bad… I admit that I almost never use my phone when it comes to organizing my dashboards!

Exactly,

I just saw the reorder button. Sorry

So there’s a solution for touchscreens and a solution for mobile devices.

And for PCs without a touchscreen, is there anything?

Actually that’s what I was telling you: if the screen isn’t a touchscreen the little movement cross works fine with the mouse.

Not on my end, in any case. See my video

@francois since your screen is touch, Gladys (Gladys) switches to touch-only operation and not to mouse operation.

Unfortunately, the library we use for the drag and drop only supports 2 distinct modes (either touch or mouse), and not both.

We’ll need to see if there have been any updates to that library since this development, but as things stand I can’t do anything unfortunately

For the 3 buttons yes that will be added, but it won’t change the problem here!

Edit: I should clarify that for regular non-touch PCs, the mouse works perfectly. The issue for you comes from the fact that your PC is hybrid and so Gladys (Gladys) classifies it as a tablet

Ok, finalement je t’avais mal compris — désolé pour la répétition de ma réponse. Je pensais que l’écran de ton PC (celui de la vidéo) était tactile.

The screen in my video is touch-sensitive and therefore doesn’t work with a mouse. It’s obvious now that you mention it

Thank you for your responses

I’ll test it on a non-touch PC
