And a countdown « Warning!! Please leave the premises, the house will explode in 5..4…3…2… »

Indeed, but I prefer the notion « partial arming » like my Myfox alarm, I find it more explicit and it can be useful at any time (naughty nap
) or for a home cinema movie turned up full like "
I really like the concept — it’s exactly what I was personally waiting for.
I just see two issues:
Currently the connection on my tablets is valid for one month, I think. Would it be possible, for wall-mounted devices, to increase that or maybe to bypass it?
Otherwise we risk having the alarm activated but not connected (annoying when you need to quickly enter your code haha)
Same here — and this is another request — but is it possible with this kind of device to have the dashboard or the digit in full screen?
Anyway, I can’t wait to replace my old digit Node-RED ^^’
Verisure is indeed talking about partial disarming :
Good point, that reminds me I haven’t talked about the alarm arming delay.
I propose adding 2 parameters in the « Home » settings:
- The alarm deactivation code via tablet
- The delay in seconds before the alarm activates.
It’s possible yes! However, to keep the scope of this development relatively reasonable (and not start a year-long project), I think we can exclude any « custom » messages like « alert in 15 seconds ».
We can provide some generic messages « Alarm armed », « Alarm disarmed », « The alarm will arm soon », « Intrusion alert », and pre-record them in French and English with a nice TTS software whose generated files are free for any use in an open-source software (female voice preferred).
If someone wants to work on this and provide me the files, it will save me development time ![]()
We can use « partial arming ». I had put « night mode » because my parents’ alarm uses « night mode ».
Yes we can increase that, I thought it was longer!
I propose to change it to 1 year, given that anyway:
- access_tokens are renewed frequently
- There is a screen that allows revoking sessions.
Edit: Done ( Increase session validity for local users by Pierre-Gilles · Pull Request #1882 · GladysAssistant/Gladys · GitHub )
Ah yes, I had forgotten that request! I thought it was already the case. I’ll try to do it before the alarm so I don’t forget.
Hello. Great news. What happens if the user forgets the code?
He can still unlock it on his phone by signing in to Gladys, or just open a browser anywhere, sign in to Gladys and unlock the alarm
Yes I totally agree with that ![]()
It would be interesting to be able to easily create scenes that activate or deactivate the alarm.
I’m thinking of the ability to do it from a button in particular (it’s what I do at home).
That way we’d have all the possibilities :
- from the tablet with a code
- from the phone with a toggle or a button that launches a scene
- from a physical device
I think it’s planned
Well spotted @_Will_71 ![]()
Should this specific action in the scenes to arm the alarm respect the delay, or be set directly to « armed »?
I’d tend to say that in a scene you can already use a wait block, so you can delay the action of setting (or not setting) the alarm.
I am of the same opinion.
Me too!
Hello !
I wanted to know if you had time to make progress on the topic ?
If you have any blockers or additional thoughts ![]()
I haven’t started this topic yet. A lot of other items (bug fixes, PR reviews, adding compatibility) have come up since then and I haven’t had
Ah, this is going to be great for repurposing touchscreen tablets at the entrance of the house or apartment or simply for activating/deactivating them from your smartphone !!! ![]()
Development progress, added settings to define the alarm code as well as the delay before arming:
For the code, for now I’ve set a 6-digit code.
For the delays, I’ve put 5 options for now:
I can add more if needed!
That’s perfect for me!
