Hi everyone!
In North America, many homes have a Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat on the wall, controlled by the Total Connect Comfort portal. I’ve done this for those of you in the United States or Canada: your thermostats are now in Gladys.
What it does
- One device per thermostat (RTH6580WF, RTH8580WF, RTH9580WF, TH6320WF, TH8320WF, VisionPRO Wi-Fi…), in °F or °C as the thermostat:
- indoor and outdoor temperatures and humidity (if a probe is connected);
- heating and cooling setpoints, mode (off, heat, cool, auto) and emergency heat for heat pumps;
- the status of the equipment (idle, heating, cooling) and the ventilation (auto, on, circulate);
- the program hold: follow the program, until the next period, or permanent.
- A widget with temperatures, setpoints, and mode, a « Set » button that opens a small form (setpoints and hold duration) and a button to resume the program.
- An action « Hold a temperature until a time ».
- Two triggers: « Thermostat connection lost » and « Restored », with the cause (thermostat offline, portal unreachable, connection refused).
- In French, English, German, and Spanish.
The cool thing
Guests on Saturday night → 22 °C (72 °F) until 11:30 p.m., then the program resumes automatically
No one at home → permanent hold at 17 °C; the first one to come back → back to the program
A thermostat loses its Wi-Fi → message, before realizing it’s cold
Installation
Gladys 5.2 minimum.
It will arrive in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with GitHub - guim31/gladys-honeywell-tcc: Honeywell / Resideo Total Connect Comfort thermostats for Gladys Assistant · GitHub
- Enter the email and password of your Total Connect Comfort account.
- Click on Test connection: the list of your thermostats is displayed.
- Discovery tab: add your thermostats.
Honest small reservations
- Only thermostats from the mytotalconnectcomfort.com portal. Lyric, the T series, everything that goes through the « Resideo » or « Honeywell Home » app, and the European Evohome portal are not supported.
- This portal is not an official API: it can change without notice. It is read every 5 minutes by default (2, 10, or 15 to choose from), to stay discreet.
- The portal locks accounts after too many failures: a refused password is therefore never retried alone.
- Humidifiers, schedules, and vacation mode are not set from Gladys (vacation mode is only displayed).
- Developed without a thermostat. I checked from home that the connection to the real portal goes as far as the proper refusal of a fake account, but it has never read a real thermostat: your feedback is welcome.
