Hi everyone!
Many low-cost solar inverters (Deye, Sofar, Solis…) come with a small Solarman Wi-Fi key that sends everything to the Chinese cloud. Good news: this key can also be read locally. Here is Solarman for Gladys, which retrieves production, battery, grid, and consumption without going through the cloud.
What it does
- One device per inverter: solar production (total and per PV input), daily production, grid power (drawing or injecting), daily drawn and injected, home consumption, battery (level, charge, discharge), temperatures, and inverter status. A feature only appears if the model provides it.
- Energy indexes for Gladys’ energy tab: the drawn index feeds consumption and its costs.
- A Solar widget: production, home, grid, battery, daily production.
- Triggers: full battery, battery dropping to a threshold, inverter in fault, grid injection started or stopped. And an action Read inverter status.
The cool part
Grid injection started → turn on the water heater, and turn it off when it stops
Battery at 20% → message and cut off radiators that can wait
Every evening at 9 p.m. → the day’s balance on the phone
Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum. Solarman Wi-Fi keys LSW-3 (serial number starting with 17…, 21…, 23…, 27…, 40…) on Deye hybrid single and three-phase, Sunsynk, Sol-Ark, Deye micro-inverters, Sofar KTLX-G3, and Solis 1P-5G.
It will be available in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with the address GitHub - guim31/gladys-solarman: Solarman V5 inverter loggers (Deye, Sofar, Solis...) read locally in Gladys Assistant · GitHub
- Enter the key’s IP address, its serial number (the 10 digits on the label), and the inverter model.
- Test the connection, then add the inverter from the Discovery tab.
Honest caveats: it’s read-only, by choice (nothing is written to the inverter), one inverter per installation for now, and the key doesn’t like being read by two tools at the same time. Above all, it was developed without the hardware: the protocol is verified on real published frames, but the signs and scales of some models (Deye three-phase high voltage, Sofar, Solis) remain to be confirmed on real inverters. It complements the Modbus integration, which doesn’t speak this protocol.

If you have one of these inverters, your feedback will be very helpful ![]()
