External integration: Host supervision

Hello,

On an idea suggested by @pierre-gilles, here is an external integration to bring some host metrics back into Gladys:

It should be available in less than an hour

And another one of my node-red + virtual MQTT device tinkerings that becomes useless :+1:. Thanks @prohand!

Version 2 is out with widgets, triggers, and actions

Thanks

Fixed in 2.0.1

gladys-host-monitoring — #7 « Missing % in widget »

  • Cause: The issue comes from the Gladys interface, not the integration. When a gauge is linked to a feature (device_feature), Gladys does not display any unit. It ignores the unit passed to it.
  • Fix: The 3 gauges (CPU, memory, disk) now display the value directly, with %.
  • Trade-off: These gauges no longer update in real-time. They move with each integration measurement, as the widget is requested again after each measurement. Temperature, free space, and the graph remain in real-time.
  • Tests, README, CLAUDE.md, and docs/en + docs/fr updated.

Thanks @prohand
The percentages are present, but the text needs to be centered in the gauge as it touches (at least on mobile).

I have an issue with the display of available disk space on my computer

Thanks for your feedback

It’s fixed in 2.0.2

What I can change: Gladys draws the widget (layout, text size). The integration only sends the values, so I shortened the sent text.

1. Text touching the gauge arc (mobile)

  • The gauges now display whole percentages: 45 % instead of 44.9 %.
  • The text is shorter and fits better in the arc.

2. Free disk space truncated (432.3
)

  • Before, once the device was created, Gladys displayed the value (432.3 Go), which was too long when 5 boxes are on a line.
  • Now, the integration always sends the value itself, with a maximum of 3 digits:
    • less than 10 GB → 9.4 GB
    • from 10 to 999 GB → 432 GB
    • 1000 GB and more → 1.8 TB
  • It updates with each measurement, like the gauges.
  • The displayed unit is GB / TB, as Gladys already displayed it (Go / To in French).

If 432 GB is still truncated on large screens: I can move “Free disk space” in the status list, at the bottom of the widget. Then there would be 4 boxes: 2×2 on mobile, 4 on a line on PC.

It’s fine for me at home, thanks
On PC

On mobile

That works for me too, thanks @prohand

Would it be possible to add the CPU temperature curve to the graph?

Hi @Chris75,

Great idea, it’s done! :+1:

Since version 2.1.1, the Host Health widget chart also displays the CPU temperature curve, in addition to CPU, memory, and disk.

Some details:

  • The curve only appears if a temperature sensor has been found. If the device has no sensor, the chart remains unchanged.
  • Nothing to do on your end except update the integration: the temperature history is already recorded, so the curve displays directly, without recreating the device.
  • Since percentages and °C are on the same chart, the title simply becomes « History Â».

Don’t hesitate to let me know if you like the result :slightly_smiling_face:

Ben there you go, it’s perfect! Thanks
