Integrate the IKEA Dirigera Matter gateway into Gladys Assistant

Here is a tutorial to integrate IKEA Matter devices via the IKEA DIRIGEA gateway into Gladys:

1: install the IKEA Smart Home app :

2: click on add a gateway :

3: go through the screens — at this step the gateway must be powered on and connected to the network (an indicator light shows that everything is OK)

4: and physically confirm the addition with a button on the gateway (for security)

5: define the different rooms of the house and you arrive at the IKEA dashboard:

now you can add/connect devices to the gateway; for that we still use the IKEA app:

6: click on Add a product and select Scan QR Code :

7: again you must physically confirm the addition of the device :

repeat steps 6 and 7 for all devices

Then comes the step of adding the DIRIGEA gateway in Gladys: we will create a MATTER bridge that will allow Gladys to communicate with the devices

8: in Settings click on the DIRIGEA gateway :

9: choose the Integration option :

10: click on Matter Bridge :

11: click on get the QR code (this code will be used in step 13)

On the Gladys side go to Integrations / search for Matter on the right / and click on Matter :

12: in Settings click on Enable Matter

13: in Add Device click on Add a device :

and paste the code generated in IKEA Home Smart at step 11
Tip: if you take too long between steps 11 and 13 you won’t be able to complete this step; once you’re ready to do step 13, repeat step 11 and add the code to Gladys within 2 minutes max.

14: our Settings screen now shows our gateway :

add devices in Gladys
You may have noticed that despite having created our bridge, none of the devices declared in our IKEA app appear on the Gladys side. This is normal — they must be added manually.

15: in the IKEA app, click on the room where the device is :

16: click on the device :

17: at the top right, click the settings button and choose the Connect via QR Code option :

the app creates a code and its temporary QR code

18: enter this code into Gladys :

select the associated room and click Add to Gladys

your device is now added to Gladys
repeat steps 15 to 18 for each device

and that’s it!

@4get9 well done on this very thorough tutorial !
Quick question: is it necessary to add the gateway to Gladys ?

@pierre-gilles is it possible to put @4get9’s latest post into a blank post with the category Tutoriels ? Thanks

I don’t know if this step is necessary, right?

Good evening,

I did it this afternoon, but the bulbs + smart plug showed up automatically without me having to add them. Maybe some products don’t require that step? ( Ampoule kajplats + prise inspelning
