Ok, feature « presence », but category? « presence » as well.
And no, we don’t already have a feature « presence ».

No solution yet for detecting presence in a room?
The motion sensors do that, right? Then it depends on the technology (Sonoff / Z-Wave / Zigbee / Wi-Fi).
Asking Gladys where a user is in the house, no that’s not possible. Do you have a use case or an idea?
The same as I mentioned on the v3.
Turn on the light when a user is in the room based on other conditions.
You can already do this with a scene. You need a device that manages presence.
Of course, but my point is more about which device (I did express myself poorly)? Which device can tell me I’m in the living room? The scenario is fine.
device_feature_category: "presence-sensor"
device_feature_type: "push"
?
So, presence will just be a 1 sent as soon as the device is seen?
Mmmmm ok we would need to think about it before implementing though. In the v3 it was a source of misunderstanding. Could you create another topic (feature request) to discuss it?
Good evening,
I would have liked to know where the development is at?
On my side, I have a Tile mate tracker and I was planning to use it to manage presence in the house.
Another subsidiary question. In the example dashboard, there is Tony and Pepper but I have not found a way to create another user for my partner.
Thanks in advance!
@AlexTrovato made their first PR 15 days ago (Bluetooth presence sensor by atrovato · Pull Request #1027 · GladysAssistant/Gladys · GitHub) I gave feedback on the general architecture of the feature
You can follow the progress of the PR on GitHub by subscribing to changes on GitHub!
There is no multi-user management for now, it’s a feature that is listed but for now there are other features that are more requested so we are doing it progressively according to the community’s requests ![]()
You can vote here if you want this feature:
Ok cool! I don’t necessarily need it right away. I would just be surprised not to find the feature.
Once the setup is complete, I’ll look into installing the development environment and try to contribute with the little knowledge I have.
@pierre-gilles I’ve made quite a bit of progress on the subject, but I haven’t had the time to finalize it since the holidays and all that. I still have a bit of paint to apply to my ceiling and I’m getting back to it!! ![]()
Hi,
It’s been a few days since I started creating scenes and integrating my Zigbee devices, and I just came across your discussions here.
For what it’s worth, I was expecting to find an « action » in scenes of the type « User seen at home » as you showed @pierre-gilles, can’t wait for that to happen ![]()
In this way, I would like to manage two scenarios:
NUT keychains are no longer detected + Front door opened recently → No one at home
Front door opened recently + No movement in the house + Between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. → No one at home
From your exchanges, it seems soon possible, that’s great!
Hmm, this must be because I’m using the dev image of zigbee2mqtt.
It must not be up to date, thanks for the info ![]()
Hello everyone,
I’m close to finishing the Bluetooth device scanner (to determine the presence of a user in the end), but I need help with the configuration page.
I’m not very good at UI/UX (design), so I’m counting on you.
Here’s what I propose:
It all looks a bit poor, a bit patchwork (to quote Pierre-Gilles).
I plan to add some descriptive texts, but I think you can have good ideas.
I’m available for explanations.
Thanks to all.
Hello,
Thank you for your work!
Here is my recommendation:
Regarding the scan, is this a global parameter or specific to each device?
For example:
Great! That answers the question, so it’s specific to the scanner part.
I’m not good at UI, I use I3 / terminal / vim so I’m used to having something ugly ![]()
But in this case, I find it effective! The feature here is really cool. ![]()
