Feature added to Lan manager

We agree that the LAN manager detects all devices connected to our network via Wi‑Fi.

We can only use the LAN manager to detect the presence of a device for now.

My Internet box isn’t ready yet to go shopping by itself, so it will always be present.

I would like to know if it’s possible and feasible to add features for devices.

I have Wi‑Fi plugs and I’d like to control them — would that be possible?
I can see my Sonos speakers; could we do something to add them to Gladys without going through Node-RED?
I can see my Roborock as well…
I imagine many possibilities but I don’t know if it’s possible

That’s a lot of questions, but I hope some of them can help improve Gladys.

Hi

LAN-Manager is an integration that performs network scanning, but just because LAN Manager scans the network doesn’t mean it can do anything with the devices on that network.

What you’re describing are just new separate integrations; LAN Manager doesn’t help at all with their development.

For Roborock, I believe @Lokkye is working on it.

I think we should also add an « available » feature so we can trigger a scene based on a device’s visibility without tying it to a person’s presence.

That would be nice
Ex: such a device is present on the network so ‹ on › :innocent:

I’m waiting for this option so I can power my laptop only when it’s turned on and visible on my network. Laptop power supplies consume a lot.

Very interesting! However, if your PC isn’t plugged in, do you still turn the outlet on? Do you do any other checks?
