New update to this thread, after two heating seasons using smart radiator valves!
Where to buy?
As explained in one of the previous posts, I finally gave up the gray market option with Aliexpress & co, in favor of Domadoo or Leboncoin, which allow me in 90% of cases to buy at a discount or at an interesting price the equipment I’m looking for (with with warranty at Domadoo).
Small reminder: Domadoo is a partner of Gladys, the links are affiliate and partly fund Gladys if you buy from the shared links ![]()
On top of that, I’ve already dealt with their customer team for after-sales service (SAV), and I received very relevant answers, which is nice for once!
Why change the model?
I decided to change, because the old model from Moes had several issues that I actually listed earlier in this thread.
But in short:
- The head is in two pieces, the battery + motor section and a very small plate to « clip » onto the head and screw onto the radiator (which is really fragile)
- Very poorly designed battery compartment, the part that holds the batteries is extremely fragile and not repairable
I was able to order only the broken part, but my children dropped the head on the floor (as I tell you, it’s not securely attached) and this time it’s the battery compartment that broke and impossible to change only the part, it’s an integral part of the head.
Recommended model (by me
)
AQARA - Zigbee 3.0 Thermostatic Head Aqara Radiator Thermostat E1
Reference SRTS-A01 at Domadoo.

What I like
- White, unobtrusive design
- A ring that functions like a « wheel » as on standard heads to manually control the temperature
- About the same size as my previous standard heads
- Screen activated only on demand
- Controllable and programmable via Gladys and directly
- Heating schedule integrated into the head (but you have to go through Zigbee2MQTT to configure it)
What I like less
- Everything is plastic, but the body is one single piece. As a result it’s more durable.
- Gladys does not yet support (for all heads) configuring the internal heating schedule in the head independent of Gladys. However it is possible to create a « heating agenda » with scenes (and that works well).
- A bit more expensive than the previous model (€55 each vs €36), but you can feel it in the build quality. I think it’s more reliable over time.
- The motor is audible, but it doesn’t activate every 5 seconds, so it’s okay
Ultimately I recommend it, the quality/price ratio is really not bad!
