Description: Creating a scene with motion detection and switching on a light bulb at night.
The first thing that comes to mind doesn’t quite answer what you’re asking… sorry ^^ it’s the idea of selling Gladys’s simple and clean side.
I tried Home Assistant (HA) some time ago now, and even though I like to tinker, the .yaml files, the all-messed-up interfaces annoyed me in the long run.
Gladys’s strength is its power VS its apparent simplicity.
A good title (clickbait) like « Gladys: The Art of Simplifying the Connected Home » or « Surprising Simplicity, Unrivaled Power: Introducing Gladys » could illustrate this kind of thing.
But that’s general indeed.
For something specific, I would consider the very topical issue of heating/electricity costs.
A broad topic that allows presenting several integrations:
MQTT to communicate with home devices (for example at my place my solar panels)
MELcloud
Enedis (to be done the day they decide to restart their service…)
Openweather
any technology providing feedback of temperature/humidity values/etc..
So the idea would be to propose different scenes that enable energy savings thanks to Gladys
"Save €20 / month thanks to Gadys !!! "
Or my favorite:
« You won’t guess how much I saved thanks to Glady$ !! »
I’m following up on the topic.
Gladys has been managing the gas boiler for two years, and I’ve seen a reduction in consumption of about +/-30% and an increase in comfort since!
Yes, it’s clear that if we manage to show that Gladys helps reduce bills, it’s a win!
For that, it might be best to reprise the series « Gladys Assistant chez vous » but focused on very specific themes, like here energy savings, to show different concrete cases of energy savings?
I don’t think so because this video is almost 30 minutes and you’ll risk losing the noob.
You need « ad » videos on different themes. Don’t go too much into detail about the equipment used, or the technology, …
He will find all the info to do it in the video description with the links.
I also think what’s needed is to vary the lengths.
A few videos over 10 minutes that go into the details.
And especially quite a few short bits, between 1 and 3 minutes, that will be there to entice people and whet their appetite.
There must be a proper name for that in marketing, but it basically serves as an entry point
