Hello everyone,
I installed two Sonoff ZBMINIL2 modules. One behind a simple rocker switch, another in a junction box to control a two-way (va-et-vient) setup with two rocker switches as well, with the goal of controlling lights.
With one button (Sonoff) I created scenes to turn those lights on or off depending on the clicks.
Everything works fine if I explicitly ask in my scenes to turn the plug on or turn the plug off (the modules are seen as plugs in gladys). But it doesn’t work if I ask to toggle the plugs: it only works in one direction (from memory it turns on if it’s off, but it never turns off). Let’s say for the two-way setup it never worked (it even makes the system crash, meaning that sometimes even using the physical switches it no longer works correctly), for the simple switch it worked three times then stopped working.
I’m not questioning the « toggle plugs » action because I suppose many of you use it without issues (and it worked 3 times for me).
So I wonder if other people have a ZBMINIL2 module, if you have tested the « toggle plugs » action with it, and whether it works or not.
To know whether this module doesn’t work very well for this type of action, or if it’s me who has a problem (bad hardware or bad wiring, or a random problem as I have read for lights).
I use one and have never had any problems. I’d lean toward a wiring issue, because the two-way switch (va-et-vient) is temperamental…
Thanks for your feedback @GBoulvin
. I’ll dig into it then. But what bothers me is that it doesn’t work either with the simple switch. So if it’s a wiring problem, I’m really not very good at it
. I confess I was hoping for more of a reply: « yes, I have the same equipment and indeed it doesn’t work when reversing the outlet » ![]()
Same module and no worries ^^
Can you take a photo of your module plugged in?
Single-pole and two-way (va-et-vient)?
How do you handle that? Via scenes or natively?
Or do you do a mix?
In principle, the modules have a native ‹ toggle ›. Check that you don’t have a conflict with scenes where you would also toggle at the same time…
For the wiring, do you want a small diagram?
Does that help?
Check carefully the wire that brings the power and the one that returns to your lamp, in case they’re reversed…
For the socket inversion I use the action « toggle sockets » in a scene. It’s in this case that it doesn’t work: it turns on if it’s off, but it doesn’t turn off.
On the other hand, if I use an action « turn on socket » or « turn off socket » it works correctly
And this applies to both of my lighting circuits.
For the diagrams, it’s indeed these
I took photos, which I annotated with small comments so you would understand. But before posting them I wanted to run some tests again and see if I had an error message on the z2m interface that could have guided you. And now everything works ![]()
I therefore conclude: intermittent problem.
Thanks for your help ![]()
