Zigbee Aqara P1 motion sensor won't pair with Zigbee2mqtt

Hello everyone,

I bought an Aqara P1 sensor, the same one @pierre-gilles used in the video with the IKEA bulb and switch, and I can’t pair it, neither via Gladys nor via the zigbee2mqtt interface. Depending on how long I press the button, blue and red flashes sometimes appear, but nothing happens in the integration.

What could be done to resolve the problem?

JLuc

Have you tried the procedure described on the Zigbee2mqtt side?

(I moved this message into a new thread so as not to mix topics)

I had indeed removed the battery pack after several attempts, following the instructions.
I just tried again without success and will try rebooting the Pi next week.
Thanks @pierre-gilles for your quick reply

Rebooting the Pi, I’m not sure that will help… are you able to access Zigbee2mqtt properly?

The service is available, I can see the integrations and the different devices. The hardware list is displayed normally and I have access to the different tabs.

Ok, I see several things to try:

  • Make sure you’re close to your Zigbee dongle for pairing.
  • Is the battery fully charged? Try a different battery
  • Are you sure about the procedure? Try again

Otherwise, here’s the Zigbee2mqtt FAQ on the topic: FAQ | Zigbee2MQTT

Thank you @pierre-gilles for your interest in the issue I’m experiencing. I was away and will follow up tomorrow.
