Hello everyone
Following the change of my Box, (BBox managed fixed IPs, but the SFR box does not, but after some research, the SFR box does manage static IP addresses), all my IPs have gone astray and I would like to program my Beelink to assign it a fixed IP address, at least for now. Could someone give me the method to do this? I prefer to ask on the forum rather than to an AI, because Gladys is sensitive and I wouldn’t want to have to redo all the setup
Thanks in advance for your help ![]()
I’m adding one of my suggestions to your topic as it may be useful to have this feature.
An mDNS server could also be very useful to have an address like « gladysbox.local ».
If that’s the case, then you can redefine fixed IPs for your devices, usually based on MAC addresses.
Unfortunately, I can’t help you with your Beelink as I don’t know what’s on it.
In my case, it must be at least 20 years since I’ve considered internet boxes as simple gateways because they manage very few things and often the Wi-Fi is terrible.
I always have a dedicated Wi-Fi router for my network that I can manage as I wish: this allows you to always have the same configuration with no dependency on the chosen ISP!
And if you want to switch to this type of configuration, I have a Ubiquiti Unifi Dream Router 6 for sale ![]()
Hello @mutmut
Thanks for your reply. The idea is to get rid of the internet box, I bought a nice Wavlink modem with WiFi 6, but unfortunately it limits fixed IPs to 10 rules so I use it for WiFi and for IPs, I read that my Syno NAS can handle that. So I need to check that out. But I wanted to fix the IP address of the Beelink to be on the safe side.
