I am looking for a status indicator light for the alarm I am setting up. The idea is to be able to see at a glance if it is activated and ideally have 4 colors depending on its state: armed, disarmed, night, or panic.
I would like to have it either near the wall control tablet or above the front door.
The first idea that comes to mind is to use a colored bulb like Philips Hue.
You create a scene for each state of your alarm by choosing to set the bulb to the color you want.
Thanks for your ideas. I actually thought of a spotlight too, but it seems a bit « big » for the need. I’d prefer a light you only notice if you look at it, a small discreet LED, if such a thing exists… And a bulb requires installing a socket, a switch… A USB LED would work well next to the tablet. I’ll install two USB wall outlets there anyway to power it.
@Philou , I recommend a small ESP with LEDs, all connected to your instance via MQTT.
Very simple, cheap and discreet. However you’ll have to come up with/tinker the case that will house all that ..
Good luck..
Thanks @GBoulvin
